Certain cups are locked from the beginning, and players must wait for a set period of time before being able to play them. Each cup contains 3 races and 1 bonus challenge (challenges that are easily relatable to Mario Kart DS's Mission Mode). Whenever a new Tour launches, it will bring new cups to the player to race through. Single Player Mode revolves around playing through the Tour itself.
